Reliance Communications has come out with the first tablet that runs on the CDMA network in India. The Reliance CDMA Tab running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is powered by an 800 Mhz CPU, 512 MB of RAM, and a 4 GB microSD card, which can be extended up to 32 GB. The tab weighs 397 grammes and its 7" screen sports pixel dimensions of 480x800. Other features include a 2.0 MP rear camera, a VGA front camera to make video calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and MobileTV.
Considering that Reliance CDMA network is available across 22 circles in over 1,000 towns, the device priced at a modest Rs 13,000 can be used pan India. It comes preloaded with 15 apps, and special tariff plans that offer up to 40 percent discount on the regular rates. The CDMA Tab also comes with one-year free subscription to McAfee Mobile Security, two-months of free subscription on BIGFLIX+, and free international calls worth Rs 250 on Reliance Global Call.
