Canon Released EOS 600D Digital DSLR Camera

As a user of canon DSLR camera brands, I simply follow the development of products from these brands. reference preview and review products that I follow is from the website dpreview.com. this time the canon of products that I want to preview is the Canon EOS Rebel T3i / EOS 600D, digital SLR camera for entry-level as the successor to the previous product T2i Canon EOS Rebel / EOS 500D. to facilitate the mention I’ll be using the EOS 600D.

Before discussing the details of this product, let us first consider its superior features include:
  •  18-megapixel CMOS sensor
  • Scene Intelligent Auto mode
  • Full-HD Movie EOS
  • Feature On-Screen Guide
  • 1.040 k-dot Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0 “) screen
  • + Basic and Creative Filters
  • The new EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
  • 18-megapixel CMOS sensor
Canon still rely features 18 megapixel resolution APS-C CMOS sensor on this product like its predecessor the EOS 550D. resolution high enough for entry-level camera. with a resolution of 18 megapixels can produce images with sizes up to 5184 x 3456 pixels.

Intelligent Auto Scene Modes
This is a new feature in the use of auto intelligent auto mode where the scene will look for a better setting than normal auto mode, so that we can better focus on the object and image composition.

Full HD Movie EOS
Similar to its predecessor, the EOS feature full HD movie is still attached to the EOS 600D. This feature allows for video recording with full HD quality (1080p). Additional to this product is a dedicated movie shooting modes that make it easy to switch from photo to video capture mode.

On Screen Guide Feature
Features are very useful for new users, which can read the user (user manuals) directly on the camera’s LCD screen.

1.040 k-dot Vari-angle 7.7cm (3.0 “) screen
EOS 600D LCD screen has a resolution of 1:04 million points with a vari-angle technology that allows it to pull out and the LCD screen can be rotated through 180 °, makes it easy to capture images at a very low angle or high.

Basic + and creative filters
Basic + is a feature to give the effect of color on the photos we take. some of the effects provided include: “daylight”, “shade”, “cloudy”, “sunset”, “tungsten light” and “fluorescent light”. creative filters are digital filters to give effect to the photo, among others: “fish-eye effect”, “grainy b / w”, “soft focus”, “toy camera effect”, “miniature effect”. although not as much with the effects resulting from the use of special lenses, but this feature to create a sizable effect on the image without having to change lenses first.

The New EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
Canon issued a series of new kit lens is bundled with the EOS 600D. differences with its predecessor is the kit lens image stabilizer function better so it minimizes the possibility of blur when shooting photos.

Conclusion
For Canon DSLR cameras users for approximately one year, in my opinion this camera is pretty decent for an entry-level camera. at very competitive in its class, I am optimistic that canon can still lead the market entry-level DSLR camera in the year 2011. additions are very interesting feature to be explored. shortcomings in my opinion just a matter of taste, namely vari-angle feature that I think is not quite fit the aesthetics of DSLR cameras that had never had such features. but maybe in the future all DSLR cameras will be equipped with a vari-angle feature of this.

JBL Creature III 2.1 PC speakers

You could accuse JBL of slacking of late, having spent the last two years releasing only fairly standard looking speaker set ups. But with the Creature III 2.1 speakers, it seems that period of relative inactivity was spent lovingly honing this rather special audio system. First things first; the Creature III speakers look great. An update on the previous Creature II design, the subwoofer looks like some sort of B-movie alien mother ship and the two satellite speakers masquerading as twin recon UFOs. Connecting with a single 3.5mm mini  jack, the speakers stand on four claw-like feet, with the subwoofer housing two chrome-finished bass and treble knobs. Available in black, white, red, aluminium and grey, there should be a suitable colour to match most people's décor.
All this great design work would be for nought however if the audio quality wasn't up to scratch. Thankfully, the Creature III speakers perform superbly, thanks in part to the use of Odyssey and Magnum driver units. A 75mm driver in the subwoofer achieves an incredibly resonant bottom end and the satellite speaker's 40mm drivers have remarkable definition, retaining clarity and avoiding distortion even at the startlingly loud maximum volume. Across a range of MP3s, I found the speakers to have excellent definition within the mid and low-mid ranges. Vocals sometimes sounded a bit too sibilant, but I'd take a crisp sound over a muddy one any day. I also found fine-tuning with the treble and bass knobs to be incredibly responsive, with a handy soft-lock click when they were moved into a neutral position. Likewise, DVD playback of the Pod-racing scene in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace really showed off the speaker's responsive range, as did a few hours battling through the PC version of Dragon Age: Origins. The JBL Creature III speakers perform remarkably well. They may be a bit more expensive than your average 2.1 PC sound systems, but rest assured that the attractive design and excellent audio quality are well worth the money.

HOW TO: Set up a home cinema surround sound system

1 - When watching a film or listening to music, the centre speaker is a very important part of a surround sound system. This is where all the dialogue will come from and can be a significant proportion of a films soundtrack. Ideally this should be at ear height, directly in front of the viewer / listener. However, this is also where the TV should be. So unless you're using a projector screen, placing the centre speaker just above or just below the TV is best.

2 - Speakers should also be mounted on solid surfaces. Any flexible surfaces such as plastic or glass will absorb sound energy from the speakers and thus reduce the sound quality. If you do have to mount a speaker on a surface like this, insulate it with a small piece of rubber or even blue tack.

3 - When listening to music, the front left and front right speakers should ideally be positioned so the sound comes from the centre (i.e. from the middle of the TV). To position them, try listening to a song with a single voice singing it. If the voice sounds like it's not central, move the speaker it's coming from most slightly backward (or the other speaker forward) until the desired effect is achieved. Please note that this may mean the speakers are not positioned symmetrically (and it is also unlikely that the furniture in your room isn't either), meaning the speakers are not likely to behave the same on different sides of the room.

4 - Ideally, speakers should not be placed against walls. In practice this isn't always possible, but if you can place the speakers away from the outer wall you will get less reflected sounds and a clearer bass.

5 - Subwoofers can also be hidden out of sight. Low frequency sound carries a lot of energy so can be heard through objects like sofas and other furniture.

6 - Rear surround speakers should also be placed at ear height, directly opposite the front pair (or 15 - 20 degrees outside of them if possible). Sound will come from these to enhance effects such as moving vehicles, fast action or explosions.

7 - Samsung 3D sound can further improve your surround sound experience. This is a Samsung technology that enhances the surround effects based upon the 3D effect being shown on the TV. The result is total immersion in the films picture and sound.

Did you know?
So you've got it all in place, it looks good and you're ready to watch and listen. But is there anything you can do to enhance the experience? Well, soft furnishings, such as cushions, sofas, rugs etc can actually help to improve the sound quality, especially if your room has hard floors, plain walls and lots of windows. Soft surfaces won't reflect the sound, reducing any potential echoing, giving the listener better clarity and able to hear more details.

Nokia Lumia 710

The little brother of the more famous and popular Lumia 800, finally came to our labs, looking coy and modest, knowing how the elder sibling broke our hearts, with the crazy pricing and drawbacks that it had. But, this one? Well, it wants to step out of the shadows of the 800 and wants to be noticed, mainly because it’s almost a full ten grand cheaper than the 800. Does the Lumia 710 rekindle our relationship with Nokia’s Windows Phones? Read on to find out.

Design and Build Quality
The Lumia 710 we got for review came dressed up in a demure black outfit, but if you’re the more flashy type, there are a range of back covers that you can choose from at the time of buying the device. The back is covered in a matte finish whilst the front is all glass and is more prone to fingerprints. At a thickness of 12.5 mm, it’s not the thinnest phone in the market currently but it’s got a contoured and curved back which gives it an overall ‘slim’ feeling.
The front consists of the 3.7-inch ClearBlack capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The speaker is located at the back alongwith a five megapixel shooter, an LED flash and the first of the two noise cancellation microphones. We couldn’t really locate the second one, but we’re assuming it’s underneath the chassis or is clubbed next to one of the holes for the speakers. The 710 comes with an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and magnetometer sensor (for GPS assistance).
The top of the phone consists of the microUSB slot, the power button and the headphone jack, while the microSIM slot is located beneath the 1300mAh battery. The volume rocker and camera shutter buttons are located on the right. Did we miss something? Yes, with 8GB of internal memory, Nokia has offered to do away with a microSD card slot, so that may be a downer for some.
A combination of a 1.4 GHz single core Scorpion processor, a Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset and Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, seems to work fantastically well for the Lumia 710. It’s fast, zippy and shows no signs of lagging down and if you’re new to the Windows Phone world, we’ll describe it in one word for you, its eye candy. In terms of looks alone, Android’s grid UI or even Apple’s UI stick out like a sore thumb in front of the brilliant, almost magical, use of colours in the phone’s user interface.
The Lumia 710 captures detail pretty well, but when you start the camera, it takes a while for the colours to stabilize. Also, there’s a slight hint of noise in indoor photographs. Outdoor snaps and macros are handled pretty well. Plus, the camera, like the applications is quick and can be accessed via the shutter button even when the phone is locked. Video recording is present at 720p resolution and like seen on most phones, you can’t zoom in during recording.
The only problem some people might have with this phone is that there is no expandable memory (if you’re not satisfied with 8 gigs of memory) or front camera. Besides that, the build, interface, camera and battery life is quite brilliant. For us, the real thing actually holding the phone back is the limited collection of apps in the market (which, to be fair to Microsoft, is getting better over time). If that isn’t a problem for you, then look no further than the Lumia 710. With Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and this new beauty, Nokia is finally back in business.

LG Released LSM-100 Scanner Mouse

LG LSM-100 scanner-mouse appears to answer a question that nobody asked, it actually worked rather well.Scan quality was good and the supplied LG Smart Scan software was easy to use. Pressing a button on the side activates the scanner, and pressing it again stopped the scan. Lay a document or picture flat, press the button and run the mouse over it - a small scanner sensor on the mouse's underside does the scanning and the document appears on screen as you go. Scanning documents needed a smooth sweep across the page, which took a bit of getting used to. It came with a special mouse mat with a clear plastic flap to hold documents in place, though it didn't work well - we found it better to just run the mouse over the document directly.Scanning a whole A4 page took quite a while, but the software cleverly adjusts the scan to make up for errors or wobbly hands. In the end it worked best for scanning small snippets rather than whole pages. The LG Smart Scan software will attempt to translate scans of text into editable text which worked very well with black text on a white background, but not so well with more complicated documents and non-standard fonts. The software includes options to paste an image of the scanned file to the Windows clipboard so it is available for other programs, or to just paste the text. There is also a sharing option that allows users to directly share files using Facebook, Twitter or email. While the scanning aspect worked well, the LSM-100's big flaw is that it didn't do a particularly good job as a mouse. It was awkward to hold and its tall, bulky size and shape made it uncomfortable. While a scanning-mouse is certainly a clever idea, the LG LSM-100 isn't well-enough designed to be usable as an everyday mouse, which greatly limits its usability.

Wireless charger

The technology, as per Motorola, will rid users of wall chargers and a bunch of cables that keep tangling our lives. The teaser video, which shows a wall charger crying because it isn't being used, surely points at a much more efficient charging technology than we have seen in the past.

Wireless chargers are not new as products like Power Mat have been around for quite a long time now. Power Mat uses induction based charging technology, or electromagnetic waves that transmit current to recharge batteries. Although not very efficient, this technology lives up to its reputation in terms of wirelessly charging devices like mobile phones.
Another form of wireless charging or current transfer was invented by a company called WiTricity, which managed to overcome the limitations of inductive charging by making electricity available over greater, wire-free distances. Both Intel and Toyota have showed keen interest in this technology and it hence proves its technical prowess over existing technologies.

Dell Released Vostro 3350 Laptop

The Vostro 3350 borrows its elegant design from the Vostro 3300. Apart from this, the business laptop now packs the new Sandy Bridge Core i7 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB HDD. Those not looking for so much steam can opt for units with mellowed down Core i3s and Core i5.

Design and Build
The Dell Vostro 3350 has similar design to the Vostro 3300, featuring a sturdy and good looking aluminium outer-shell -- everything?s almost the same. The Vostro 3350 exterior metal finish gives the business laptop a very sturdy build like the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E420s. The metal hinges the screen rests on are extremely well built ensuring the screen is firmly rooted to the rest of the chassis. The laptop?s surface is matte, and therefore resistant to smudges and dust. The Vostro 3350?s 13.3-inch screen has decent viewing angles, more than what we had hoped for.

The full-sized chiclet styled, isolated keyboard now features better spaced out keys, making typing much easier; the keys deliver good tactile feedback. The keyboard deck doesn?t suffer from any flex and the palm rest is accommodative enough to ensure comfortable typing. Keys featuring secondary functions are clearly stamped with orange labels making them easier to recognise and use. The trackpad is wide, supports multi-touch gestures and is pretty accurate it has a fine texture which feels nice on touch. The mouse keys are discrete and easy to press but a touch too noisy.

Three distinct shortcut buttons find their place on the Dell Vostro 3350 business laptop?s chassis, above the keyboard. The first button opens up various usable options in Window?s Mobility Center. The second connects you to the Dell Support Center and the last button is somewhat our favourite - a customisable application -launch button. This will, no doubt, keep business users happy.

Features :
Following the latest trend of the industry, the Dell Vostro 3350 business laptop features Intel new Sandy Bridge processor. The unit that was sent to us features the Core i7- 2620 clocked at 2.9GHz with 4 GB of RAM and dedicated graphics AMD Radeon HD 6490M option and a 500GB hard drive. The Dell 3350 has a screen size of 13.3-inch packing in 1333x768 pixels. Unlike the Lenovo ThinkPad E420s this device has a matte display; though the device does not output the same vivid display like the ThinkPad E420s, the matte finish ensures absolutely zero reflection. Matte screens are also slightly better for reading text for longer durations, cutting out the gloss on most modern laptops.

As for the connectivity options, the Dell Vostro 3350 is miles ahead of its competition. Its left side has 2 USB 3.0 ports, an ethernet port and a tray loading DVD slot. The right edge features a VGA, HDMI port, a USB 2.0/eSATA hybrid port and a headphone and microphone jack. On the front you get an 8-in-1 card reader. We are really glad the Vostro 3350 features two USB 3.0 ports, this ensures for much faster data transfer speeds compared to the older USB 2.0 port. Wireless communication protocols like Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 are also supported on the Dell Vostro 3350. Taking a cue from the ThinkPads, the Dell Vostro 3350 also sports a spill-resistant keyboard. For added security the unit also features a fingerprint reader for biometric protection. The Dell Vostro 3350 also features a 2MP in-built HD webcam and the laptop comes with pre-installed Skype software video conferencing is a treat.
